Frequently Asked Questions

What amenities does Pinedale Resort offer?
Pinedale Resort is a small, quiet resort - just four cozy and comfortable cabins. Because the resort is too small to make a living by, the owners continue to live and work in the Twin Cities, opening the cabins for a limited season with limited amenities and no on-site staff. If you prefer quiet, simple surroundings, Pinedale Resort is for you. The owners or a caretaker will be available during Saturday check-in to show you to your cabin, explain the self-service features of the resort and answer any questions. Read on to find out all the amenities we offer.

Do you have a beach?
We maintain a natural shoreline to promote fish habitat - this means you may be able to catch very large bass and northern right off the docks. We do not have a swimming beach. The lake bottom is sandy and weedy with a gradual slope to deeper water and if you don’t mind the weeds, the lake is clean and lovely for swimming. You may also want to bring inflatable rafts or water toys.

Do you have a boat launch?
Yes, we have a cement boat ramp suitable for launching fishing boats. Wabedo Lake has a public launch for larger boats.

Do you rent fishing boats or pontoon boats?

We do not rent fishing boats, motors or pontoon boats. We have a 14-foot Lund fishing boats for use at no charge, oars and anchor included. You may reserve the boat if you want to bring your own motor. Pontoon boats may be rented from Musky House Marine at 218-363-2044 or Wheeler Marine at 218-682-2339.

How is the fishing?
Usually the fishing is excellent. We will be happy to point you to the good spots, but the rest is up to you! Free maps of Wabedo and Little Boy lakes are available in Guest Services.

Do you have a fish-cleaning house?
Yes, we have modern, self-service fish-cleaning house supplied with newspapers, plastic waste bags and a waste freezer. We ask our guests to keep the fish house clean for themselves and other guests by cleaning counters, walls and floor and properly disposing of fish waste.

Do you have cable TV or Internet?

We do not have cable TV or Internet service. The Common Grounds coffee shop in Longville offers wireless Internet service – and great coffee and food. Public Internet service is also available at the Margaret Welch Memorial Library in Longville. We do offer a supply of games and books for adults and children for rainy days. And, although we do not have a playground, you will find croquet, badminton and other outdoor games available to use.

Will my cell phone work?
Verizon customers usually have service at the resort. All services will connect in Longville. A landline phone is available in Guest Services for emergencies, local calls or long distance with a credit card.

What should we bring?
Bring your personal towels and soaps and whatever other personal items you like. Cabins are outfitted with full kitchens, dishes and silverware, pots and pans, coffee makers and filters, microwave ovens, dish soap, kitchen sponges and towels, paper towels, toilet paper, sheets, pillows and blankets.

Do you have fire rings? Grills? Picnic tables?
Every cabin has its own charcoal grill, picnic table and two Adirondack style chairs. Each cabin has its own fire ring and firewood is supplied at no charge. Due to concerns about the spread of emerald ash borer, you absolutely may not bring your own firewood, including leftover dimensional lumber. Do not burn anything or put anything in the fire rings except firewood we supply. We always keep the firewood shed well stocked.

Do you have heat? Air-conditioning?
All cabins face the lake breeze, have heat, ceiling fans and portable fans, and are not artificially air-conditioned.

Where can I buy bait? A fishing license? Ice? Mixed gas? Food? Beer?

Longville is just four miles away on paved highway and has a wide variety of stores, including two bait shops, a gas station, a large grocery store, a municipal bottle shop and many other inviting restaurants and shops. Check out the city Web site at

Do you allow ATV’s or PWC’s?
We find our guests love the peace and quiet at Pinedale Resort, so no, we do not allow ATV’s, personal watercraft, firearms or fireworks.

Do you allow pets?
Well-behaved dogs (and dog owners) are welcome. Although we have had cats and even birds in the past, we find they don’t enjoy the environment at Pinedale Resort, so please, just dogs. A damage deposit is required, and extra rent will be charged.. Please see the Policies on Our Cabins page for more details.
